Print from OS 9 to an OS X network printer via AppleScript This hint maybe useful for people that deal with network-printer-in-Classic issues. Thankfully all my printing in Classic goes straight to PDF with the PrintToPDF utility. [Mac OS X Hints] |
Ant and AppleScript O’Reilly, David Miller: “We’ll see that tools from each community can aid the other in the development process: Ant to aid in the development of AppleScripts, and AppleScript to aid in the development of Java applications.” [Ranchero]

Bad Electronics Day In the last few days, two bits of major electronics have been fritzy, and just now got fixed. Everything decides to go fritzy at the same time, of course. First, my TV decides to turn off, then on, then off again. I looked at it a minute last night and couldn't find anything major wrong. Then, this morning, my internet connection goes out. No big deal - I was out to do some errands soon, and do some testing. Tonight when I got home, I looked at the TV. Plugged it into all the outlets in the apartment, same result. Suddenly I decided to grab the surge protector on my computer, and plug the TV into that. Yeahhh!, it works. Now, my Airport/Internet access. Plugged my powerbook directly into the cable modem, still no access. Hmm. Plugging the plug on the cable modem did the trick. While I was down by my Base Station/Cable Modem/switch rats nest of wire, I took some time to straighten things up down there. Twist-ties all around. Of course, I'm sure you all wanted to know that. |
