Exhibit B: the backside of Democratic Sen. Fritz Hollings, vacating the chair of the Senate Commerce committee to make room for Republican John McCain. Hollings had been pushing a bill -- highly praised by the entertainment industry -- to force computer and electronics makers to embed copy protections in theirr products. McCain scoffs at the idea. Sorry, Hollywood. [Media Unspun]
A bright spot in darker days, if true, is that Hollings won't be giving media corporations any more vigilanty-style control over their consumers. I like McCain, let's see how he does in finding a win-win for technology and media.
