Last night, about an hour after we put Jackson down to bed, he started screaming, I mean SCREAMING, as if he was in pain. Paulette and I both rushed in, and first tried to comfort him in his crib. After a few seconds, she picked him up, then a few seconds later i took him, and still he cried out. Plus, he didn't seem to acknowledge us, or even barely open his eyes. After minutes of our futile efforts to calm him down, we put him back in the crib and started undressing him, worried that something was physically wrong, and we weren't seeing it... but everything seemed to be in order. Finally, as Paulette picked Jackson up again, he seemed to wake up. Still upset, but much quieter, he started to fall asleep again in her arms, seemingly unaware of fright that gripped him only moments ago. With a BIG sigh of relief, we put him back in his crib and he slept thru the night.

Paulette jumped online to find out what this was, and it does resemble Night Terrors. The fact that he's only 7mo old is a bit disconcerting, since night terrors usually occur in preschoolers and beyond. Hopefully, this was a random event, but if it should continue, we have an action plan to stop them.

Small businesses active online
Riva Richmond highlights the renewed focus by Yahoo, MS and ALN on serving small businesses online. "An October study conducted for the U.S. Small Business Administration found that 57% of U.S. companies with 250 employees or less, which are estimated to number about 21.3 million, use the Internet. And 32% of those not online today expect to be within the next year. Some 60%... [Blogads.org -- where money meets the blog]

so, the big guns are gunning for the smaller fish, but there must be a lower limit for them. 10 emps, 50 emps? What is the market that I can target, and not be worried about an MS or Y! trampling all over me?

USPS photo postcards? Looks like the United States Postal Service is competing with Ofoto? or are they simply rebranding an Ofoto service?

Radio Wishlist - Print to Blog. ....
Radio Wishlist - Print to Blog..

We had print-to-fax a long time ago. Why not Print-to-Blog? Weblog as printer driver!

Make it so I can post from almost any app.

Most apps have a document object model on the sending end. I think there are components that render to html. We have the programming hooks on the receiving end. What's left?

Holy shit! I suggested this two month ago. On further reflection, what is needed is a more general output to XML OS-level feature, where "XML drivers" (XSTL?) could then transform the XML into appropriate target formats (like my weblog).
