April Fuels ... for the mind

Lots of new (and not so new) stuff to read showed up over the weekend:

I received my used copy of Simon Thompson's book The Craft of Functional Programming. This should make it a little easier for me to participate in the pragmatic programmers' Language of the Year project.
Another Simon, Peyton-Jones this time, along with a couple of colleagues, published a paper (in 1999) about Aspect-Oriented Compilers, i.e., compilers written using an aspect-oriented language/library/style. [seen today on Lambda, the Ultimate Weblog.]
The English translation of the OCaml Book is finally announced. My name shows up on that page: I helped to proofread one of the chapters, a couple of months ago.
Cameron Laird writes a column in Unix Review magazine: the column is named "Regular Expressions" (great name for a column!) and always has something interesting in it. This month, the subject is the Erlang language.
In the discussion on the Lambda Weblog, Luke Gorrie included a pointer to "the book Concurrent Programming in Erlang, which you can download from http://www.erlang.org/doc.html".

It'll probably take me a while to read just a subset of these.
