Bioluminescent Bay

[Seen on the FuzzyBlog].

Check out the kayak pictures.

When I was young, we used to check out the bioluminescence in the ocean between LA (San Pedro) and Catalina. Nothing as spectacular as that biobay site, but pretty cool nonetheless.

We used to see lots of flying fish, too. Do the grunion still run in the LA area, or has the overpopulation and pollution finally driven them away?

The coolest was the pod of 100 or 200 dolphins that came and surrounded our trimaran for several minutes, playing and colliding between the hulls.

LA Weather Report, May through November

I call it "late night and early morning low clouds and fog along the coast, clearing to hazy sunshine by mid-afternoon" season. If you've ever lived in LA, you have undoubtedly heard exactly that phrase often enough to memorize it.
