quarkup into Scala
I probably ought to toss the fp-like Python and do a from-scratch rewrite using Scala's parser combinators. But I'm still learning a lot by doing the rewrite at a very low, literal level. Mostly about how vastly improved the scala compiler's error messages are than they were a couple of years ago. Kudos to the Scala team for that!
