Wherpetology
Speaking of
wherpetology ...
True story:
Last May, I went for a walk in
Quail Hollow Park.
Misty, then drizzly, then sunny. No, that's not my companions,
that's the weather. I was walking with a couple of friends,
Mary and Richard. We saw several newts or salamanders
along the way
(probably either
yellow-eyed salamanders or
Coast Range Newts).
Mary kept calling them lizards.
Mary: We don't have lizards like that around Reno.
Richard: They're not lizards -- they're salamanders.
Me: Yeah, they're amphibians, not reptiles.
They have a reptile dysfunction.
I had been waiting at least a couple months to use that one.
I can just picture the ads ... Does your snake fail to uncoil?
Lizard not doing his push-ups? Tortoise stays hiding in its shell?
