There was some good discussion on Radio's comment system on "Steve"'s site that I don't want to lose track of so i'm going to linking to it here. For some background read his initial post.

Dwight seems to agree with me on static count files, but his idea for monthly files won't always work. At the start of each month there will be multiple months on the home page. If we only grab the current month, we won't get some of the counts.

What would be really awesome is if we could get the static files on the Apache server hosting the radio site, then we could use SSI or something to just include the js in the initial request.
