2004 Presidential Election

SFGate.com: "A new poll shows President Bush's approval ratings in California have plummeted, even in the state's most GOP-dominated conservative areas. With the Iraq war taking a difficult turn and questions raised at home about the administration's terrorism policy, the poll by the Survey and Policy Research Institute at San Jose State University released Monday puts Bush's state approval ratings at just 38 percent, while 50 percent disapprove. That's a dramatic change from the start of the year, when 49 percent of Californians approved of the job the president was doing, and 40 percent disapproved."

Here's a link to the bios of the people on the 9/11 commission. Thanks to Doc Searls for the link.

Yahoo News: "President Bush has pulled slightly ahead of Democrat John Kerry in Florida after several weeks of a withering blitz of political advertising, according to a poll released Tuesday. Bush had the backing of 51 percent of likely voters, while Kerry had the backing of 43 percent in a two-way matchup in the Mason-Dixon poll taken for the Orlando Sentinel and WESH-TV. Six percent were undecided. Two polls conducted in early March suggested the race is close in Florida, which was virtually tied in 2000 and was finally awarded to Bush after a U.S. Supreme Court decision." Thanks to Blogs for Bush for the link.

Taegan Goddard: "Political ads not working."

Colorado Luis: "Ralph and several other bloggers have already noted the Charlie Cook Political Report having declared Colorado a tossup state in 2004. Doesn't surprise me."
