U.S. Senator, Ken Salazar, was very involved in this week's compromise, according to the Rocky Mountain News [May 25, 2005, "Salazar's role in deal hailed, hit"]. From the article, "Political analysts say the compromise will help Salazar with two groups that matter most to him. Eric Sondermann, a Denver political consultant, said Salazar's harsh words for religious conservatives boosted his standing with hard-core Democrats. Moderate swing voters, he said, are likely impressed that he's soothed some Washington squabbling."

TalkLeft: "William Myers, fall guy?"

Stygius: "Senator Voinovich has released an open letter to senate colleagues on the John Bolton nomination."

Blogs for Bush: "Cloture vote on Owen nomination passes."
