The Register: "Intelligent Design is not science, and has no place in science lessons, according to the Vatican's chief astronomer, the Rev. George Coyne. According to the French news agency, ANSA, Father Coyne was speaking informally at a conference in Florence when he said that intelligent design 'isn't science, even though it pretends to be.'

Andrew Sullivan: "One thing I wish were more insisted upon. It's not just that we have no interest in seeing Iraq degenerate into a brutal civil and possibly regional war. By removing Saddam, we created this vacuum. We own it. We have a moral responsibility to see this through."
