CQ Politics: "Even as more and more presidential hopefuls enter the field, introducing themselves to voters and positioning their stands on critical issues, the big question for 2008 remains unchanged: Is America ready for a woman or an African-American in the White House?
"The conventional wisdom these days leans against the probability of such a historic step. But the political map suggests otherwise."

Iraq the Model: "Saddam drew his path to hell long time ago ... he chose this fate the day he chose cruelty and oppression as a way to deal with his people. He built his reign with blood and terror and vowed to make death the fate of anyone who dared say no to him.

Daily Kos: "While we didn't get everything we wanted in the last Congress with Net Neutrality, we managed to hold off some very bad legislation, and to have a major impact in the negotiation process of AT&T's buyout of BellSouth, which was approved by the FCC today. CNN: "Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi dictator who spent his last years in captivity after his ruthless regime was toppled by the U.S.-led coalition in 2003, was hanged before dawn Saturday for crimes committed in a brutal crackdown during his reign. The execution took place shortly after 6 a.m. (10 p.m. Friday ET), Iraq's national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie, told Iraqi television."
As the Curious Stranger writes, "Good riddance."
TalkLeft: "Reactions to Saddam execution."
Jesus' General: "He kilt the man who tried to kill his daddy."
