Colorado Water

Instead of encouraging further conservation in our drought ravaged desert Denver Water is ending all water use restrictions, according to the Denver Post [August 26, 2004, "Denver opens spigot, rescinds water limits"]. From the article, "Denver Water's board Wednesday lifted water restrictions, effective Sept. 1, just before its staff delivered a recommendation to raise rates. If approved, rates would go up an average of 3.8 percent for city residents and 7.3 percent for suburban customers. Meanwhile, other major metro utilities with drought restrictions in place - including Aurora, Colorado Springs and Fort Collins - said Wednesday that they have no immediate plans end them." Here's the coverage from the Rocky Mountain News [August 26, 2004, "Watering limits to ease"].
