Pueblo Chieftain: "How do we get more people involved in discussing Colorado's serious water resource problems? The answer is elusive. Except for rural folks who know the value of water, most of us don't sense there's a problem as long as we get clean water out of the tap and don't have to restrict lawn watering in the summer."
San Luis Valley Dweller: "Gregory Hobbs, Colorado Supreme Court Justice, and Hal Simpson, State Engineer, will be the keynote speakers at a groundwater symposium Monday, June 6, at Adams State College Carson Auditorium in Alamosa. The event, titled "Groundwater Use: Past, Present, and Future," is sponsored by the San Luis Valley Association of Conservation Districts."

Ed Quillen writes about in stream water rights in his column in today's Denver Post [May 31, 2005, "Water: No honor among thieves"]. From the opinion piece, "This could get a lot more confusing before anything is settled, and I'm starting to miss those simple days on the Western Slope, where it was easy to spot the bad guys - they drove around in Denver Water Board pickups, sometimes even in broad daylight."
