Here's a story about next year's governor's race from the AP via the Rocky Mountain News [May 19, 2005, "GOP weighs risks in fight to keep governor's seat"]. From the article, "With no heir apparent to a lame duck GOP governor, Colorado Republicans are trying to decide if it's worth the risk of losing a seat in Congress by nominating U.S. Rep. Bob Beauprez to seek the governor's mansion next year. They also worry about a doomsday scenario that would allow U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar, the only Democrat to win a statewide race in years, to run for governor. If Salazar wins, he could appoint his successor, and Democrats could take another political plum away from the Republicans."

Mt. Virtus: "Yesterday I asked to see what the CEA's reaction would be to the 'First Class Education for Colorado' proposal that would put 65 cents of every dollar of current education expenditures into the classroom. Well, the Rocky Mountain News got the scoop on that one this morning."
