State Senator Jim Isgar is interested in running for Lieutenant Governor, according to the Cortez Journal. From the article, "In Colorado the lieutenant governor is appointed. Candidates for governor are required to announced their choice for the office a few weeks prior to election day. Isgar said his position as assistant Senate majority leader and as the lone rural Democrat in the Senate might be a boost to the ticket. His credentials could give a Denver area or Front Range governor candidate a bounce among Western Slope and southwestern voters. 'I think I've had an impact as the only rural Democrat, providing a voice for agriculture, natural resources and water,' Isgar said."
