Bill Ritter was in Cortez campaigning this week according to the Cortez Journal. They write, "Colorado's sole Democrat in the November 2006 hunt to become the state's 41st governor swung through Cortez this past weekend to campaign. Bill Ritter, of Aurora, talked politics for a couple hours with a handful of Montezuma County Democrats Saturday afternoon at the Anasazi Motor Inn Restaurant. He played down some recent party rhetoric criticizing his pro-life stance, and he said he 'recognizes' the hope of many Democrats, who want to see a more progressive candidate enter the race. 'Looking for another candidate is part of political life,' said Ritter, who became a gubernatorial candidate in May. 'Roe v. Wade is the law, and I respect it. I'm not making it any part of my agenda to change that.'"
