Denver November 2004 Election
Ken Salazar and Peter Coors squared off in another forum yesterday, according to the Rocky Mountain News [September 24, 2004, "Senate rivals reach out"]. From the article, "Coors praised former President Clinton, and Salazar revealed he gets a Christmas card from President Bush and Laura Bush.Coors in his 10-minute opening talked about growing up in Golden and why his business background with the legendary Coors brewery will benefit the U.S. Senate. Salazar, the state's attorney general, talked for half an hour about homeland and economic security, leaving little time for the question-and-answer session that followed during the luncheon. Coors got a laugh when he said he wanted to offer a rebuttal, but promised he wouldn't take 30 minutes. Salazar told the crowd that one 'clear difference' between the two candidates is that Coors is partisan and he is not. Salazar mentioned the card he gets from the Bushes."
