Welcome Hearst Elementary to The New Jazz Thing!

Hello to Hearst Elementary parents wondering 'What the Heck?!'. What's with the Outlaw name? What's with the Jazz 88 thing?

The New Jazz Thing is a radio show and a weblog. The radio show is live each Thursday night from 6-9 pm PT at 88.3 FM at KSDS, San Diego. The music portion of the show is all New...New CDs, New Artists, New Classic Re-isues. I do live interviews with artists and people associated with the arts. We've had poets compete in poetry 'slams' on the show. And it's pretty much all improvised as our time on Thursday evening unfolds. And I put as many listeners on as I can to say what they think about the New things in Jazz.

The weblog is where we write about the show and all of the new jazzy things that become part of or evolve from the show. Improvisational Radio and Publishing. A weblog is just a series of postings, arranged in chronological order, usually linking heavily to information of interest on the web. If you follow my personal weblog, Vince Outlaw's Radio Weblog, you'll learn more about weblogging as I do, along with trying to keep up with everything else we can find of interest.

And I'm very interested in linking up the show, the weblog, and Hearst Elementary. Among other things. More to follow. Suggestions are appreciated. You can use the comment[] link below any item to add your two cents or send me email at outlawv@aol.com.

Unfortunately, this latest marketing frenzy coinsides with a dark period for the show and weblog. I'll be picking things back up around October 21, so come back then for more insights and tune into the next The New Jazz Thing on Thursday, October 24, 2002.

And say Hi if you see me running after that kid in K-2!

Much Love...VO
