Jazz 88 New Schedule Page Is So There! Almost

The only problem with the totally New, totally Fresh, totally Mole-ified Jazz 88 Schedule page is it's printability. And I've let the esteemed author and Creative Music host know my issues: The right side cuts off on about mid-Sunday on my HPDeskJet 722C and it goes to two pages (using only about 1/6 of the second). Printability is key for a mobile being not yet wirelessly gadgetized (and anyway, I want to print it and post it outside my cube at work). Tomorrow, I'll follow the rules and incidentally use the work machine and printer to 'fit to one page' and report back on the results. I'm sure it will look fully functional. And combustibal...especially that Thursday line-up.

Does Understanding How The World Trade Center Collapsed Help You?

In Data Trove, a Graphic Look at Towers' Fall. A newly released repository of raw data and expert analysis, marshaled as part of a $3.5 billion lawsuit, could reshape perceptions of the tragedy. By James Glanz and Eric Lipton. [New York Times: NYT HomePage

"This trove of material, including videotape, compact discs, witness accounts, mathematical analyses and high-tech imagery, was kept confidential until last week, when a federal judge in the World Trade Center insurance case made it clear that he had no objection to its public release. Taken together, the dozens of boxes represent the largest single repository of raw data and expert analysis on the Sept. 11 attack in Lower Manhattan, dwarfing the analysis compiled by the government in its first examination of how and why the towers collapsed."

I sometimes question my interest in the details surrounding the attacks on September 11, 2001. Whenever there's a story about the last minutes of the planes, or how the towers collapsed, or those who talked to loved ones for the last time, are you reading it? For me, understanding what I can makes me feel more connected to the people who were actually there and experienced that horror first hand. Rest and Live In Peace.

"The expert consultants, who have marshaled this material as part of a $3.5 billion lawsuit, consistently reach conclusions that support the side that hired them: either a consortium of insurance companies or Larry A. Silverstein, the trade center leaseholder."

I wonder when this information will show up on the internet. I also wonder exactly what all the information shows in the context of the insurance payout dispute. I tried to read into the story what I could. It seems like there are issues as to what actually caused the damage or the collapse, maybe some difference if the planes caused it, or the fire caused it, or something like that, can't tell by this article and don't have time to research tonight, but would be interested to know.

And for some reason this brings some peace or hope...

"Regardless of their legal allegiances in that case, the forensic scientists and engineers are undisputed authorities, and the value of their labor will undoubtedly transcend the legal battle of the moment and perhaps reshape perceptions of the tragedy."
