I'm in the clothing design business now - well, I've made a few designs for t-shirts and printed them up using inkjet transfer material. I am not at all happy with the iron-on material available. I think it wants the iron to be hotter than mine can muster.

I get better results with a two step process: First I apply the image to the fabric as per the instructions. Then after cooling and peeling the paper backing off the image, I turn the fabric around, line the image with saran-wrap (actually Reynolds vinylidine chloride film - same thing) and iron with full heat from the back. When I peal the plastic off the surface of the applique is glossy and the adhesion is at least twice as good as a single heating application.

My art lessons with SAAS are paying off. Even my doodles are showing the signs like the one here that appeared in my computing notebook.
