Charles Shaw, the California wine with a huge cult following is exclusively available from Trader Joe's for three bucks a bottle (two if you live in CA.) I bought a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon Monday and opened it last evening. The wine itself does its price justice, with abundant fruitiness and just a hint of smokeyness. One reviewer says it's color is dark plum. You know how I interpret color: Absorbance of a 1:5 diluted sample in red is labeled on the left, while percent transmittance of pure wine, blue, is labeled on the right, both vs wavelength.
