It's National Novel Writing Month, thirty days in November to write a 50,000 word novel. They don't care too much for the quality, so there are a lot of participants but I am not one of them - 50,000 words is about all I know. I am, however, creating a 'coffee table book' in the allotted time, with 50 (1000 words/picture) large, captioned pictures. Well, I haven't written any captions yet, I'll need to see what the pictures look like.
Here's my second picture for today.
Bokeh is Japanese for blur, but as a photographic term it refers to the way parts of a photograph that are not in focus appear.
The spam email exerpted below has arrived for the past couple of weeks in my official work account. We've got pretty good spam blocking at work, but this keeps on comming through, plus a return receipt is requested. So naturally I figured it came from the Ridge and Ashcroft show:
Here is a list:
1. Heroin, in liquid and crystal form.
2. Rocket fuel and Tomahawk rockets (serious enquiries only).
3. Other rockets (Air-to-Air), orders in batches of 10.
4. Shipment of cocaine has arrived, buy 9 grams and get 10th
for free.
5. We also offer gay-slaves for sale, the only such service
on the NET, you can choose the one you like, then get
straight to business.
6. Fake currencies, Euros and $US, prices match competition.
7. Also, as always, we offer widest range of child pornography
and exclusive lolita galleries, to keep out clients busy.
ATTENTION. Clearance offer. Buy 30 grams of heroin, get 5
free. Prepay your batch of rockets (air-to-air) and receive
a portable rocket-launcher for free.
This offer won't last! Only until 20th of November all our
clients will also receive a pack of 2 CDs, with best
selection of child pornography.
I get the combo of rockets and counterfit money. Kiddie porn and gay slaves kinda go together too, but heroin and portable rocket launchers? That's just irresponsible.
A click through brings up a site, Carderplanet, which is written in Russian. A check with whoIs lists the site as belonging to Boris Postovalov, who lives in Apache Junction, Arizona, about a stone's throw and a half from here.
This is obviously some kind of scam, or more likely law enforcement sting, but who is it? (I'd have posted a link, but I don't really want this page showing up in their referers.)
