Venezuela's National Workker Union (CTV) is planning a General strike in Venezuela on March 18. This, plus the fact that the Venezuelan Oil Company (PDVSA), which is the biggest company in Latin America by any reasonable standard, is planing to go to a strike over the new authorities named by President Chavez.
Update: It seems the Strike will not happen on the 18 as the CTV needs more time for planing.

I just thought of something. Copy protected CDs will be a boom for so called pirates. Now they can sell a corrected CD, after they break the copy protection (which will take what? 5 minutes?), they can sell it at a higher price point (because it works right) and then, get this, return the original to the store for a full refund, after all it doesn't play in their CD player.
The end result of this is clear, Bold Prediction: The Music industry will make less money next year...

WINERTIA:
The tendency of school system or university to adopt
Windows-centric (the industry "status quo") procurement policies despite
an
overwhelming argument that Macintosh networks are easier to install,
cheaper
to maintain, and easier to use in an educational environment.
