The Customer Is Always Wrong Music and film moguls, and a few senators, think fans are thieves and want to cripple technology to stop you from making copies By Steven Levy

As Robert Henlein wrote in Life-line: "There has grown up in the minds of certain groups in this country the notion that because a man or corporation has made a profit out of the public for a number of years, the government and the courts are charged with the duty of guaranteeing such profit in the future, even in the face of changing circumstances and contrary public interest. This strange doctrine is not supported by statute nor common law. Neither individuals nor corporations have any right to come into court and ask that the clock of history be stopped or turned back, for their private benefit.

I use both Macs and Windows XP computers daily, and the Mac is less frustrating, less commercially intrusive and more elegant. Quite simply, it's a better computer.

Why Batteries Haven't Kept Up [Slashdot]

From a comment by /. User 14555:"Why would the battery companies want to improve themselves out of so many repeat sales? Make your product a bit better than the next guy, but make it so good that your customer only needs half as much of your product as they did in the past, and you have lost sales."

Here is the original article. I 've always wonder why Lithium batteries are so hard to find in standard sizes. They seem to do only non rechargeable, only in AA size, and they tell you they are only for digital cameras. Yeah, yeah.
