Venezuela gives oil reassurances. Venezuela says it will guarantee oil exports regardless of who wins the vote on President Chavez. [BBC News | News Front Page | UK Edition]

Chavez says TO-MA-TO, Rangel says TO-MAIH-TO... Let's call the whole thing off...

George W. Bush acknowledged that the war on terror has been "misnamed"; he said that it ought to be called "the struggle against ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies who happen to use terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free world."
[From Harper's Weekly]

One thing that has never cease to surprise me of Bush as a president (eitherr father or son) is the poor command of language. Read that phrase and tell me: Isn't it saying exactly the opposite of what he must mean?

Why do people use PC's?. Tom Clifton: This morning I had a long conversation with a paranoid, computer-savy PC user. His email has been down since he upgraded Explorer on his primary PC. He said that he is still using win98, because most viruses target win2000 and beyond. And while he knows that win2000+ is a more stable operating system, it has too vulnerable to attack from the internet. I tell him get a Mac. He tells me they cost too much...
[Fluid Flow] [Jeff's Radio Weblog]

The guy ends up spending 800$ more to secure a PC because "Macs are too expensive". Surprise! You can get en eMac for 800$!

Seeing Google With the Eyes of Forrest Gump. Any investor intent on Google might do well to remember the fictional character who invested in Apple Computer in the early 80's. By By GARY RIVLIN. [The New York Times > Technology]

Tipical stupidity. Anything to justify a story, but fact checking is way too much work. The letter Forrest Gump receives is dated 1978, which means he was a pre-IPO investor on Apple. He could have made millions of dollars easily. Let other complaints ensue about Google's and Apple's IPO.
