One of the first things we did in Paris was go to Notre-Dame and the Pompideou Center of Modern Arts, that's my favorite museum in the world and my kids enjoyed it a lot. It is a credit to Parisians to dare to make a building so bold in the middle of such a well-preserved area. It is clear both the preservation and the boldness is part of the French character. Here are the pictures of the first day.

While I sort and prepare the pictures from our trip to Paris, here are two sets of pictures. The first I couldn't post on time are pictures from the flooding in Venezuela at the beginning of my trip to Europe. It includes pictures from Camuri, where members of my family had to be evacuated in a helicopter, and Caracas that people have sent me. The second are from yesterday and today, it is snowing in Newcastle and it looks very pretty, but I am glad I missed it...

Chavez says US plans to kill him. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says he believes the US government is planning to assassinate him. [BBC News | News Front Page | UK Edition]
The US Plan is even more devious... It is a plan to commit genocide on the whole Venezuela. They will dress Chavez in a pink dress, with a pink skirt and a pink bow. He will die of shame and the rest of us will die of laughter.
