First step in a Google OS?. Google has hired away a crack Microsoft operating systems engineer. [CNET News.com]
Why do we need traditional media if now reporting news means pulling things from weblogs? (at least this time they did attribute it). The rumor is very weak. Assuming the facts are right and Google hired the guy they may be a ton of different reasons why. It could be the guy will take a more managerial job, it could be that he would help app development (which or Google means Widnows only), it could be a million things. It would be very hard for any company to pull an OS or a Browser (only something like Firefox can succeed at that). It would be an absurd proposition for Google to get into such a hard market, where it has to know it would be crushed thru illegal tactics by the monopoly and no help from the law enforcement offices will be forthcoming.
