From statistical studies it is clear that 70% of the time that I am
driving there are cars behind me and in front. 27% of the time I have
cars in front, but not in the back, and 3% of the time there are no
cars back nor front... What does that say?

Internet Attack Called Broad and Long Lasting by Investigators. A break-in at Cisco Systems last year was only part of an extensive operation in which thousands of systems were penetrated. By By JOHN MARKOFF and LOWELL BERGMAN. [NYT > Technology]
Interesting article. DOn't you think it is strange that they don't mention the operating system affected? I am willing to bet it is UNIX, but I wonder if it's any flavor or some specific flavor. Did the reporter found out and thought it wasn't an important part of the story (he mentioned SSH, for God's sakes!)? or did someone else hide that detail for another failure of security through obscurity?
