Apple, Digital Music's Angel, Earns Record Industry's Scorn. Steven P. Jobs is girding for a showdown with at least two of the four major record companies over the price of iTunes songs. By JEFF LEEDS. [NYT > Home Page]
Are they dumb and brainless? I haven't bought a CD in years, I won't pay more than 99 cents per song, I already get some music in other ways if they are not in iTunes or if they are album only... Why is the music business so anti-consumer? Also, they talk about interoperability, but only in one direction. The iPod won't play music from other stores, that's Microsoft fault, not Apple. The other stores require Windows! Get a clue people! The other stores do not interoperate with Mac OS X, they are just an attempt to lock people into Windows (and not Windows Mobile or anything, got to be XP). Come on! Hire someone with half a brain!
