The inner story of what transpired today is stranger than I thought. It seems a group, not clear who, wanted the march to deviate to La Carlota in order to present to the military commanders there a document asking them to oust Chavez through a Coup. A lot of opposition groups are denouncing this and asking the people to leave. I hope they do. This country is truly amazing. Even after what happened a mere three months ago, people are still being manipulated by dark forces...

Since Chavez wasn't home and the march was not permitted to reach the Miraflores Palace, though pro-Chavez supporters were allowed near Miraflores, the opposition march went to La Carlota Airport were some military commanders talked with them, but some politicians are saying they will stay in the airport until "the situation is resolved" whatever that means. But now there are rumors of militaries moving to stop the marchers from taking the airport (which is a military post as well as a civilian airport).

Chavez appears to be terrified of the opposition. They made a deal to allow certain things like flying over today's march and then went back on the promise. Not only that but he is not in Caracas, with the excuse of some event in the most powerful military base in Venezuela, located in Maracay about 70minutes from Caracas. Clearly, whoever was advising him on image is no longer doing so. He is loosing ground very quickly thanks to the economy and these miss steps. The small breath that Carter's visit gave him didn't last a day. He is over, I am sure, but as the sun goes down the shadow increases...
