Everybody wants a Shorcut
One thing is clear after the events yesterday. Nobody wants to do the real work to get rid of Chavez. They just want a shortcut, something fast that would get rid of him immediately. That is not possible, is not even convenient, but the opposition insists it's the only solution...
Instead they should concentrate in medium to long term plans. The referendum could be called next year and then election in a month. Who are going to be the candidates? They should be preparing for that. If not we could end up with a worse government than we have now, yes, it is possible.
Think about it. Even if Chavez can't run on that election who is going to beat his candidate? At this point nobody is strong enough to do that and the opposition is already showing signs of divisions...
Protests are fine, but somebody has to look beyond that. Somebody has to think that this country will not change a bit, just because Chavez stops being its president...
