Fifteen Generals declare themselves in Civil Desobedience.

 

The highest ranking General in the venezuelan Armed Forces has just declared himself in Civil Desobedience according to Article 350 of the Constitution accompanied by 14 other active Generals. He has asked people to go to "Freedom" Square in Caracas, which he called liberated territory. Heavy stuff. Stay tuned....

Clearly, my brother is very excited about this. I am not. He thinks the generals must have something planed. I think they do not. I think they believe they can do a coup just by appearing on TV.

I don't support a coup. I think a coup is a pretty sure way to end up even worse than we are today. That's an opinion

The first step of a coup does not involve TV appearances... that's a fact.

Government officials have denounced two attempts on the president life in two days. The opposition is dismissing them as government inventions, mostly because the attempts were ridiculously badly planed. In one they wanted to use an anti tank missile to bring down a plane that was way out of range, in another armed thugs were waiting for the president in a square he wasn't planed to appear.

I don't know if they are true or not. The government does not have a monopoly on stupidity. But I do wish this attempts do not succeed. That would certainly bring more violence to this country.
