Most people believe the strike called for next monday will be a failure. In the clearest form of cognitive dissonance, some opposition supporters are now saying that the strike won't take place. The argument is that the, so called, opposition leaders will accept any excuse to cancel it. Possible excuses could include: a date for the referendum, which is irrelevant since it will be contested all the way to the supreme court, or the devolution of the metropolitan police, which simply return the situation to that of a couple of weeks ago. The opposition has lost this round, let us see if it learns the lessons. Stop the improvisation and start looking for real leaders. It should look especially for consistency and differentiation with Cahvez.
