Pot-like substances help fight osteoporosis.

Substances produced in the body that act like those found in the cannabis plant help preserve bone density, according to researchers at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Based on this finding, a prototype for a new drug to prevent osteoporosis (loss of bone density) without any psychoactive side effects has already been developed.

Security Vendor McAfee to Pay $50 Million Fine. [Slashdot]  This is an example of what can happen when a vendor works more at improving the stock price and than improving the product.  This is further evidence that the stock market side of the vendor business is an important consideration in institutional product decisions because is may help predict risk of vendor failure. -- BL
