CNN reports: "Microsoft to offer Linux software?"
Dan keeps telling me that this time its not Microsoft against Novell, or Microsoft against SUN or Microsoft against Borland. This time its more like Microsoft against the rest of the world. And that is one battle they will not be able to win.
If the analysts prove themselves correct (thats still a big "if") it would lend additional credence to MONO, wouldn't it? What a world we live in. Wouldn't it be funny if all the proponents of the MS-centric way of programming end up espousing the methodology, patterns and general work structure that the rest of the world uses? And please don't say MS builds software the same way everyone else does. I still believe that half of ADO.NET was strcutured in such a way as to move as many VB programmers as possible into .NET. I can't blame them. Who would want to release a tool that cuts 75% if your existing customer base (developers).
