What really is going to be the nail in the coffin of the TV networks is what happens when TiVo begins to offer:

1) Synthetic programming. 

2) Archives. 

3) Networking. 

4) DVD capture.

I think the synthetic programming already happens to some extent with Tivo wishlists.  The other things would be nice, but I think MPAA lawsuits will stop them from ever happening
