iBlog and .Mac

iBlog. Interesting (to Mac users anyway) to see that apple are giving iBlog away to .Mac users who renew their accounts.... [The Obvious?]
Here's my iBlog test blog on .Mac. The application is nice. The cool feature is the integration with Apple's iLife apps: I can add a picture straight from my iPhoto archive, and it's resized on the fly. [Paolo Valdemarin: Paolo's Weblog]

Colin Powell, February 24, 2001: Hussein has no significant WMD capability

On February 24, 2001, Colin Powell did not view Saddam Hussein's weapons capabilities as a threat to his neighbors in the region, let alone the United States. Still, less than two years later, the US government would claim that Iraq's WMD threat was great enough to justify a unilateral invasion. This was revealed today by Salon's Joe Conason, writing about an Australian investigative reporter John Pilger who has uncovered a video tape of Colin Powell from that time, clearly stating that Saddam Hussein has "not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. He is unable to project conventional power against his neighbors." [Kuro5hin.org]

IT Trends Favor Apple

“Right now, three key trends are leading IT guys to take a second look at Apple,” writes Alex Salkever in BusinessWeek Online. “The first is the lure of the cheap and dirty Unix workstation. The second is the rise of laptops. The third, and most potent, is the growing frustration with the Microsoft monoculture and all too common worm attacks that gum up corporate networks.” [Oct 1] [Apple Hot News]

Design, Packaging & Feel

Admiring the design, packaging and user experience of the PowerBook and the iPod, Mark Morford writes on SF Gate, “This is what Apple does. This is what they are known for and why their design team is so famous and why they win so many awards and why they engender such passionate devotion from their adherents and why Macs are still far, far superior to PCs and always will be. It’s true.” [Oct 1] [Apple Hot News]
