The Globe and Mail-Zukerman takes nation's orchestra south
The orchestra's trip, its first to Mexico in 28 years and its first across the United States since 1996, will send the ensemble on a 17-day, 10-concert tour to New York, Washington, Chicago and Mexico City's magnificent Palacio de Bellas Artes, among other halls
This is the tour for which we were working so hard to finish the double CD set of Mozart pieces. The orchestra will be selling the discs of course but also including the CDs in education kits for schools.

After two weeks with a dual processor 2 GHz Power Mac G5, Bob Levitus writes in the Houston Chronicle, “it’s the fastest Mac I’ve ever used in my entire life, and not by a small margin, either. I’d call it wicked fast, but that wouldn’t even come close to doing it justice. It was astonishing.” [Oct 3] [Apple Hot News]

Save non-streaming QuickTime movies from Safari

A friend asked me if she could save a QuickTime movie from the web to her desktop, even though the "Save As" option was greyed out.

I thought it would work if she found the movie's URL and opened it from within the QuickTime... [macosxhints]
