I'm getting a blister from playing fooseball.

In other work related news, yesterday we had a four way test conference call using our software, including a party connected over the PSTN gateway, and it sounded great! Hopefully today we'll go live with the system in our office, in accordance with software engineering practice of "Eating your own dogfood".

In other Joel related news, after significant work on my part, the office is successfully using FogBUGZ as our bug tracking system. It took me a couple hours to install the software, then about a week to write a script that migrates our old bugs into the new format and get it all working against mysql instead of MS SQL server/Access, which it's designed for. The trick is to point Fogbugz at a MS Access database like it expects, BUT have all the tables in it just be links to mysql over ODBC. This way MySQL never sees the quirky Microsoft SQL syntax that FogBUGZ is spitting out, only ODBC requests from MS Access. The drawback is that I guess this would get slow if you have too many users, but it works great for us! Well there's still a few glitches but that's what the bug target called "FogBUGZ bugs" is for!

Of course the silly thing is that in one month, FogBUGZ 3.0 will be released, and I'll have another week of migrating work to do! I can't complain though -- it's nice to work on a project that everyone around you finds immediately useful.
