Exactly 30 days ago Canada Customs and Revenue sent me a letter informing me my 2001 tax return was being "reviewed" so today, 30 days later, was the deadline for sending in the documents to support my claim. Now how easy do you think it is for me to find all these little slips of paper that they now want, mailed to me over a year ago? Consider that since then I've had 5 different addresses (Orinda, CA; Phillip St. Waterloo; 207 Erb. Waterloo; San Francisco; Montreal, QC) plus home in Winnipeg that these papers could possibly have been mailed to.

I thought it would be a huge deal to get duplicate copies of my official tuition receipts, but as usual the nice people at St. Jerome's are happy to help me (for a small fee). Getting my US tax return stuff was easy since I filed on line -- I just login again, and print off a copy. And since I did this all on the last day, I had to call the tax center in Winnipeg to ask for an extension, which was also no problem. Whew!
