Finally

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) had an open house today for the new Sheppard subway line, allowing people to ride the 6.4-kilometer route for free. The $1 billion (Cdn) route which opens officially on Sunday is considered by many to be a white elephant as it goes from Yonge Street to a mall in the middle of the suburbs.

Hopefully the money will be found to expand it west to York University and east to Scarborough Town Centre. A subway line or dedicated streetcar line along Eglinton Ave between Yonge and the Allen would be nice also.
