Following Nvidia’s 3Dmark03 benchmarking scandal they apparently got down to business and wrote a new set of graphic card drivers that are both better and "honest".  ExtremeTech reports that a leaked new Detonator driver build, 44.67 substantially improves the GeForceFX 5900’s 3DMark03 score on some tests, one almost doubled. No issues with how the driver draws the test scenes were found.

ZDNet has an article on Intel’s upcoming desktop and portable computer CPU chips for this year. The highlight will be the fourth quarter release of the Prescott, a enhanced Pentium 4 with new instructions for multimedia processing and a 1MB cache, double the size of the Pentium 4’s. Its speed is expected to be 3.4GHz with an increase 3.6GHz in the first quarter of 2004. The introduction of the Prescott will allow Intel to cut the price of existing Premium 4 chips, as it will take the top of their pricing list, costing $637 in volume quantities.

By then the Athlon 64 will be released so comparing the two chips will keep IT publications busy for awhile.
