The New York Times Circuits columns looks at wind turbines, huge windmills with rotors that can be as large as the wingspan of a 747.

The business section looks at the growing traffic of cargo ships to and from China. This traffic has increased dramatically with China’s increased role as an exporter and it’s increasing consumption of resources from overseas. One company to benefit is CP Ships Ltd, one of the five companies made independent when the Canadian Pacific conglomerate was broken last year. It’s profits and revenue has risen to record levels and its stock is up 72% since the breakup.

On Wednesday night I saw Mars twice through two telescopes at the Mars Fest at the Ontario Science Centre. The telescopes were provided and manned by members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.

Not quite the level of these images but very good anyhow.
