I played around a bit with Freenet today, given that version 0.5 was released. They have an XML-RPC interface which might be interesting to play around with.
I had tried previous versions of Freenet but all tended to fail miserably. I was quite (pleasantly) surprised to see this version works quite well. You do need to leave your node running for a while for it to 'integrate' into the network first. And I'm talking hours here.

I have no idea what else is obtainable on Freenet as I've been unable to access pretty much anything else. Is there any useful/interesting content there? Hard to tell without the ability to search...
