A site dedicated to the development of open source programs for the Symbian OS. Another one is available here. GnuPoc have recently ported a few previously Windows only parts of the Symbian SDK to Linux making development of Symbian programs under Linux easier. Previously these programs had to be run using Wine.

The Return of the King got eleven Oscar nominations which is fantastic. Fingers crossed that they get good recognition on the night. I only saw the film recently and thought it was great. I loved the way the scenes generated with Massive blended in with the rest of the action in the movie. I was often unsure what was generated and what wasn't, the effects were so well done.

Vassili Bykov has a Smalltalk Blog. The number of Smalltalk bloggers is growing! Is this the same Vassili Bykov that used to use Corman Lisp I wonder? That Vassili produced a great new FFI system that never got completed I think. I remember using a beta of it. I wonder what happened to it?

Bill Clementson has a posting about Cells, a Common Lisp framework for automagically updating slots of classes when dependant slots changed (and much more). An earlier posting of his goes through some of the things Cells can do.
