New Flash Player Beta
Macromedia have released a developer only beta of a new Flash Player, codename Airwolf. Find more info over at Mesh on MX. Bug fixes include masking of device fonts,  getURL behaviour and Netscape plug-in scripting. Lets all do some serious testing to ensure a bug-free release to the general public.

Flash2Fullscreen
Serious about producing games in Flash? You might be interested in this app available at www.swfxxl.com. It allows you to package your games into an .exe file that changes the screen res of the host computer when run, allowing the game to run at full screen with no loss of frame rate. Check out the site for some demos. (I'm sure a good Windows programmer could knock this up easily but it'll will be useful to some.)

Macromedia Flash Content Update
Mike Chamber give us his usual update of new content at macromedia.com. Lots of good articles at the new Mobile Development Center and a nice article on using patterns in Flash from Branden Hall.

Back from Glastonbury
Back from the madness that is Glastonbury Festival. Had a great time as always, good to see everybody from back home. The new security measures definitely worked, no overcrowding and a distinct lack of dodgy geezers up to no good. Best performance? Coldplay were excellent, lots of fantastic new tunes and all the hits, they're really turning into a world class act, but I'm going to have to go with Orbital. They're always the highlight when they play and they didn't let us down this time, they should be the Official Glastonbury Band! Anyway, got a good few hundred emails to get through, expect much posting later on.
