licentious radio

Speaking of whacking (assassinating) Democratic Senators....
Electro-magnetic pulse weapons can stop a car. Law enforcement agencies have begun to deploy them. They work by zapping electronics.
Now imagine aiming an EMP gun at a low-flying airplane. The motor would still run, but all the electronics would be out. Modern airplanes use electronics to control the flaps and rudders. The pilot would have no control over the plane. The radio would not work -- no calls for help. No cell phone calls. Since the electrical system would be destroyed by fire after the crash, there would be no evidence.
What you would observe is that the plane would go off course and crash at high speed. That, of course, is exactly what was observed at the Wellstone crash. As far as I know, it also fits the evidence of the Carnahan crash.
The technical question is whether an EMP or similar device exists that could knock out an airplane flying low to keep under the clouds as it approaches the airport.
This is not to say that Wellstone and Carnahan were assassinated.
But it is clear that there are kooks willing to kill, terrorists willing to kill, and even people with specific motives to eliminate Wellstone. General Ashcroft himself issued a warning that Senators were potential targets for assassination.
Apparently EMP guns provide the means to crash the plane. Anyone who could recognize Wellstone's plane and get his flight schedule would have the opportunity. It should be investigated thoroughly.

Today's Republican Corporate Criminal news is that Pitt's choice to head the accounting board was himself on the audit committee of a company engaged in massive corporate fraud.
Was Webster in on it? Such a dilemma! If he wasn't in on it, he's *way* too stupid to head the accounting board. If he was in on it, he still might not be the best choice, eh?
The best part of the story is that Pitt knew all about it, but hid it from the other SEC directors.
(The article is at New York Times.)

Not that anyone is surprised, but now there's hard evidence that Bush was specifically warned about selling his Harken stock. Even better, Bush's lawyer hid the evidence from the SEC until the day after the SEC closed it's (whitewash of an) investigation.
That's guilty, guilty, guilty! [boston.com]
Of course the *real* question is where the Democrats are. Imagine if Clinton had been up to his eyeballs in insider trading, stock fraud, and the rest of the Republican Corporate Criminal looting and pillaging....
