The other thing Democrats (and the UN) should insist on is that Bush publicly admit that Iraq was not a terrorist threat to the United States, that Iraq was not an ally of Al Qaeda, and especially that Iraq was not behind the September 11 attacks, but rather that the September 11 hijackers were funded through the Saudi royal family and through Pakistan.
Bush is a miserable failure, and he should have his nose rubbed in the mess he made before we clean it up.

Busho wants $87 billion to keep the lid on his catastrophe in Iraq.
He should come up with that $87 billion. We should force him to rescind $87 billion worth of tax cuts to Bush's cronies.
Adding another hundred billion to the deficit should *not* be considered an option. Democrats in the Senate should filibuster until Bush comes up with the money.

The right-wing refrain about the Democratic debates and Iraq is that Democrats are forgetting that France and Germany would never have gone along. Propaganda lies!
True, Bush is such a miserable failure that France and Germany were never going to believe his lies about Iraq.
But a qualified, honest, elected president of this country could have made Iraq a high priority for the world, and we could have gotten the world to go along. We weren't that far off in the Security Council -- it's just that the case Bush/Rove/Powell presented was too obviously fabricated.
Now, whether it was really worthwhile to drop the ball on terrorism to invade Iraq -- that's a different question. Was there a *real* case to make for conquering Iraq? If there was, you can bet Gore, Kerry or any other competent Democratic would have led the world in regime change in Iraq -- but would have done it competently, without hubris, so the peace would have been peaceful, and the nuclear storage facility wouldn't have been looted, and the entire world would share in the cost of creating prosperity in Iraq.
Junior's Daddy led the world in the first Gulf War, and the world paid for all but four or five billion. Bush is a miserable failure.

When you see "Sue Schmidt" in a byline, figure the article is a pack of lies and propaganda lies. If the story points to a conclusion, presume the conclusion is not only false, but as close to the *opposite* of reality as you can get.
Today's pack of lies were packaged for the big September 11-athon as part of the kick-off of the fall campaign to terrorize American citizens into forgetting that Bush is a miserable failue, the worst (so-called) president in history.
Bet that Bush will mention tonight that Iran helped Al Qaeda, and bet that Bush will trumpet every arrest/assassination they have pulled off.
The problem, of course, is that if you arrest one terrorist leader, somebody else gets promoted. As long as you incite people to become terrorists -- by invading Iraq and slaughtering tens of thousands of civilians, for example -- it takes longer to kill terrorist leaders than it takes to promote a new terrorist leader.

So now we know Sanchez is just another cheap military whore -- willing to propaganize for the Miserable Failures in order to get a promotion.
We also know now that it is a lie that Sanchez has enough soldiers. He doesn't have enough soldiers to guard all the arms caches. The explosives used to bomb the UN building were Iraqi military ordinance, which could easily have come from dozens of poorly guarded facilities.
The Americans are guarding facilities with RPGs because those were the weapons of choice. But they didn't guard facilities that had large bombs but no RPGs. So guess what the real terrorists are using in their attacks....

This is what Paul Bremer and Donald Rumsfeld call "Democracy": innocent Iraqis shot dead in the street, or blown to ribbons by a grenade in their living room. With the deaths covered up by heroic American soldiers.
Fire these vile sons-of-bitches, and let's get to work fixing their catastrophe.
