I wanted to ask you a couple of questions while I had you here. I'm interested in selling my youngest daughter into slavery as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. She's a Georgetown sophomore, speaks fluent Italian, always cleared the table when it was her turn. What would a good price for her be?

My Chief of Staff, Leo McGarry insists on working on the sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly says he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myslef, or is it okay to call the police?

Here's one that's really important 'cause we've got a lot of sports fans in this town. Touching the skin of a dead pig makes one unclean. Leviticus 11:7. If they promise to wear gloves, can the Washington Redskins still play football, can Notre Dame, can West Point?

Does the whole town really have to be together to stone my brother, John, for planting different crops side by side?

Can I burn my mother in a small family gathering for wearing garments made from two different threads?

Think about those questions, would you?

Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. We've got to stop letting the Ashcrofts, Bushes, and Rumsfelds of the world use false patriotism -- hate-mongering nationalism -- to cover up their malfeasance and mistakes.

No mercy, no chances.

Bush may be toast. But that's no call to be polite about Bush's failures and malfeasance. We need to clean house in Congress, and we need "October Surprise" insurance -- these people were willing to abort an election to seize power, and with Reagan they apparently engaged in treason to win the election (dealing with Iran to prevent the release of hostages until after the election).

Hillary Clinton, for instance, should stay out of the race. Even if Bush is clearly toast in December, big terror strikes by his buddy Bin Laden could restore his popularity to the point where Clinton's negatives would come into play.

No morons for VP. Lieberman was probably the only Democrat that could make Cheney look acceptable. The VP candidate should *crush* Cheney in the debate, exposing every lie, and showing the world that it is really Cheney's personality and beliefs that are the worst part -- not just his particular lies.

We should have a media offensive, as well. All the usual suspects are going to be out to ridicule the Democratic nominee. We should go armed with their drivel from the 2000 election. We can't let them get away with it again.

We should win 48 states and take back the House and Senate on a clear mandate to undo *all* the damage Bush has done here and abroad.

(And don't get me started on voting machines manufactured by Bush cronies.... We had damned well better be sure the vote count is accurate.)

A CNN/USA Today poll shows both Kerry and Clark beating Bush, with Dean and Lieberman within the margin of error. Bush is dropping so fast that Al Sharpton would whoop him in a fair fight.

Praise to the Democrats for *finally* criticizing the unelected Miserable Failure. Without public criticism from Democrats, the media was covering up for Bush, and everybody with eyes to see was in some kind of brain warp -- watching the ugly, naked Emperor march around while every news anchor praised his clothes. Hello? The guy's a fraud and a thief. His great success was wrecking the economy. It's time to fire his sorry ass.

Why would foreigners buy our debt?

Interest rates are low, but the dollar is at a low, too. A German with some money could buy US Treasury bonds, and hope that the value of the dollar goes up someday. Unlike, say, 1976, this is a reasonable possibility. Bush's economy-wrecking has been thorough, but it will take the rest of the world down with it. So, relative to the dollar, other currencies will eventually fall, making investments in the US more valuable.

Under our last elected President, our booming prosperity got us to the point where a dollar would buy 1.2 Euros. Under Bush we're down below .9 Euros. As the US economic wreck spreads, we should get back up to 1.1 or so -- something like a twenty percent return on your investment. Not bad. The only way you would lose is if the dollar collapses further, without taking the rest of the world with it.

By the way, when I asked if "Bring 'em on" is the stupidest thing a president has ever said, it's more or less a serious question.

Because there are rumors of a Pentagon program to promote terrorist attacks -- to provoke existing terror cells to blow their cover by attacking. What better way than to have Bush call them out? You think Rummy, Condi, and The Dimwit never talk?

So we could hope that Bush was just being mind-numbingly stupid. Because what he said is likely to promote that people who weren't terrorists before will become terrorists. Bush is like the poster-child of Osama's recruiting drive. We could hope that the Pentagon geniuses who are trying to provoke existing terrorists would be clever enough to make sure they don't create new terrorists.

Like maybe these Pentagon geniuses Photoshop-ed pictures of Saddam so that he's wearing a dress, and then they make posters for the Fourth Infantry Division to put up around Tikrit.

Mission Accomplished, indeed.
